Scouts get first aid tips from the experts
The 1st Lennoxville beavers, cubs, and scouts had a special outdoor first-aid training session on Wednesday night courtesy of the 52ième Ambulance de campagne, Sherbrooke’s field ambulance reserve unit.
“It’s just a nice thing we occasionally do,” explained Lieutenant-colonel Pierre Simard, commanding officer of the 52ième Ambulance de campagne. “It’s not in our mandate, but it’s a pleasure to do it.”
Simard explained that aside from being fun, he considers the activity to be a good point of contact with the community and makes an effort to help it happen if asked.
Despite the potential distraction of beautiful summery weather, the assembled members of the scouting movement all seemed fully engaged with the informative and interactive workshop.
