CND sisters reunited in Sherbrooke
Remembering those school days, now so long ago, didn't seem to daunt these five former classmates, gathered for a reminiscent lunch in Sherbrooke last week.
Cecilly Mills, visiting from her home in Edmonton sparked the event and almost immediately those old memories flooded back, remembering the pigeon in the chapel, rushing to finish homework in the cloakroom, hanging black veils and caps on the busts of famous people lining the shelves in the corridor, recalling favorite teachers and admitting those days of study, snap quizzes, discipline and dedication by the CND sisters shaped our minds and souls for whatever life held in store for us.
June 18, 1955, dawned sunny and warm. The 'Grand Salle' was filled with proud parents and family members, prizes were awarded and we, theoretically, were free to discover what the world outside the convent had in store for us. Tuesday's get together with Louise Fletcher, Cecily Mills, Marlene Hayeselkas, Claudia Villemaire and Ann Maceachren was, without doubt a jolly occasion. Two classmates, Nan Cahill and Denise Dion were not found in time for this day and a moment's silence for Raymonde Robinson, Shirley Bradford and Marie Mcguire completed a memorable occasion, another memory to store away until the next rencontre.
