Tim Brink making a splash for Waterville water park

- By Matthew Mccully

Townships singer songwriter Tim Brink and his band mates will cap off a family activity fundraising event this Saturday, organized by the town to help raise money for a water part in Parc Bellevue.

“I just moved to Waterville,” Brink said, when asked what his connection was to the town.

“I don’t know a lot of people in town. I thought it would be a good way to meet the community,” he commented.

“It’s a neat little town. I’m impressed by how forward-thinking and green people are here. It’s a real community oriented place,” he said, happy to lend his musical services to the town on Saturday.

Organized by Loisirs Waterville, the goal of the activity filled day is to try and raise funds to add a water park to Parc Bellevue.

“It’s a $95,000 project,” brink said, explaining that around half of the budget has been raised already through grants and other initiatives.

Activities will begin at 2 p.m. with family friendly fun and inflatable games.

The music will begin at around 7 p.m. with opening band Queen St.

Brink said he had been shopping around for an opening band when he happened upon the young group at La Petite Boite Noire in Sherbrooke.

“They were really together,” Brink said, feeling they would be a great compliment to his music.

Brink and his band will take the stage around 9 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Waterville town hall, Salon Majente in town, or at the door of the event.
