Resources in English for families in Brome-missisquoi

-

In celebration of Quebec Family Week from May 15-21, the Partners for Family Services in English launched a brand new brochure listing local health and social services, and community organizations that ensure access to help and support in the English language.

The Resources in English for Families in Brome-missisquoi brochure will be distributed for free to all students attending English primary schools in the area, and will also be available at all of the offices of the partners of this initiative, including the Townshippers’ Association office, Yamaska Literacy Council, REFAC, and others throughout the Brome-missisquoi region.

The Partners for Family Services in English is a local committee working together to coordinate efforts, resources, and initiatives to better meet the needs of English-speaking families in Bromemissisquoi. This brochure is the committee’s first initiative with others to follow!

In Brome-missisquoi, there are many organizations that offer services in English and try specifically to serve the English-speaking population. However, these services are not always widely known. This is a concern for the community, and for the service providers in the region.

We hope this brochure will help bridge that gap for English-speakers in the area to have easier access to these services while also helping service providers better serve the English-speaking population.

Funding for the brochure was provided by the Comité d’action local (CAL) de Brome-missisquoi, through Avenir d’enfants, a Quebec a non-profit organization that supports local communities engaged in the development of children 0-5 years.

To better serve families in English, we’d like to know if there is a service you need that is not listed in the brochure. If you have questions or suggestions, or need help finding a copy of the brochure, we invite you to call Townshippers’ Association’s office in Lac Brome at 450-242-4421 or toll-free 1-877-242-4421.
