Richmond Legion Branch #15 Ladies Auxiliary regular meeting

On May 16, 17 members met at the Legion Hall for our regular meeting. The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. with the Colours being presented by Cmdes Helen Knowles, Linda Badger and Patsy Biggs under the direction of Cmde Wendy Ridley, Sgt at Arms., followed by the singing of “O Canada”.

Roll call was taken and the minutes were read by Cmde Lucie, accepted. Treasurer’s report, given by Cmde Dawn, were also accepted. Bills were presented and paid.

Pres. Cmde Ann reported on the supper that we catered for St. Andrew’s Church and thanked all those that helped.

Correspond­ence - A letter was received from the Main Branch inviting us to the Memorial and unveiling of the Monument for Cmde Marjorie Lancaster, a little late, but a few members of the Auxiliary were in attendance. Committee Reports: Health and Welfare - Cmde Ann has sent out 2 “get well” cards and 3 “thinking of you.”

Kitchen - Cmde Linda reported all was in order.

Membership - Cmde Elsie reported on the death of Cmde Ann Harsell, recently transferre­d from the Waterloo Branch. Publiciy - Cmde Mildred had nothing to report. Ways and Means - Cmde Donna was absent. Cmde Linda gave her report on the catering of a funeral and the supper that we catered. Also a catering coming up on the 20th of May for 40 people.

Report on lunches at the School given by Cmde Anne Nixon.

Our next meeting will be held on June 13, the last one until September.

Meeting was adjourned and closed in usual manner. Singing of God Save the Queen, followed by the retiring of the Colours and a light lunch was served.

Half and half was won by Cmde Linda.
