s part of the launching of the Brome-missisquoi Tourism Season, which took place at the Farnham Golf Club, the Local Development Center (CLD) recognized one of its ambassadors, Hélène Levasseur.

Since her arrival in Frelighsburg in the early 1980s, Levasseur has achieved a considerable number of accomplishments at an impressive rate. All the projects in which this entrepreneur has invested time and effort have turned into gold, contributing to the tourist development of the Brome-missisquoi region.

Both in terms of agro-tourism and in terms of commerce, the arts, tourism and community life, what Hélène Levasseur has brought to the region has been invaluable.

One has only to think about the creation of the Fleurs de pommiers cider plant which was purchased in 2010 to become Union Libre, which created the famous ‘cidre de feu’ which has won several awards, and of course, the foundation of the Au coeur de la Pomme in Frelighsburg, which has forged a reputation more than viable.

In addition, Levasseur was instrumental in setting up the Festiv'art in 1996 and was behind Dunham’s La Clé des champs, which will celebrate its 20th edition this year.

Levasseur initiated the first tourist map for the region and joined the Brome-missisquoi Tourism Advisory Committee in the early 2000s, where her contribution was considerable. At the same time, she was involved in the creation of La Route des Vins. In fact each of her initiatives was motivated by her love of the various corners in the region, making each a standard-bearer and a source of inspiration for all those who live there.

For these reasons, the CLD de Bromemissisquoi wanted to highlight and applaud the commitment Levasseur has shown.

The Brome-missisquoi CLD stimulates entrepreneurship, job creation and socio-economic development in the region. Its Tourism and Culture Department supports and promotes the growth of the tourism industry.
