According to a statement put out by the Alouettes Wednesday evening. “After having undergone MRI imaging and further examination by our medical staff, it appears that Darian did not suffer a major injury. His return timetable will be evaluated on a daily basis.”

Durant has been pegged as the starter for the Als ahead of the 2017 season. He’s backed up by Vernon Adams who’s in his second year with the team, Jacory Harris who spent last year with the Hamilton Tiger-cats and Matthew Schiltz a rookie from Butler.

Durant, a dual threat QB to run or pass, had been previously with the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the past 10 years accumulating 28,507-yards passing, 149 passing touchdowns, 2,922-yards rushing and 22 rushing scores. Durant won two Grey Cup Championships with the Riders in 2007 and 2013.

After being unable to come to terms with the only team he’d played for in his first 10 years in the CFL, he was traded to Montreal for a fourth-round pick in 2017 and a conditional second-round pick in 2018.

Montreal has their live team scrimmage tomorrow at 3 pm on Coulter Field at Bishop’s University.
