Joffre Bridge work begins

ork repairing Sherbrooke’s Joffre bridge, which connects Galt East and West, initially scheduled for May 29, began on Monday
Leaving commuters faced with a single lane in each direction on the structure for the next few months. The approximately 20,000 motorists who use the bridge daily will have to be patient. Once the bridge works are completed, major work will begin on the Aylmer Bridge, which connects King Street East to the city center.
Other projects resumed on Thursday with the forced end of the construction strike include the refurbishment of Pavilion 6 at the Cégep de Sherbrooke, the 12-storey student residence at the Cégep de Sherbrooke which is undergoing work valued at approximately $3.5 million.
