service for this urban circuit. Thanks to the dedication and great expertise of the Acti-bus team and the collaboration of the MRC, a project has been set up that will allow citizens and visitors to travel the city at low cost."

This pilot project will run from June 12 to December 12, 2017 and to encourage its trial, it will be offered free to the entire population from June 12 to 30. Subsequently, a cost of $2.00 per tide will be required. Booklets of 10 access tickets will be available at $20.00 and renewable monthly passes, transferable within the family will cost $40.00. Transportation will be free for children under 11 years of age.

"Public transit makes it possible to meet people, to move easily in the city and to pursue eco-responsible transportation. I think it's worth trying,” said Coaticook Mayor Bertrand Lamoureux. “So I’m challenging everybody to use it to demonstrate that the service must remain. I invite people to try it out."

Several studies have been carried out with the aim of reducing the walking time to terminals, so 79 per cent of the 2,559 households downtown are accessible in less than 5 minutes. The transport service will also make 13 trips per day and has 30 stops on its route. This project was developed in consultation with several representatives from different sectors of the community in order to meet the needs of the various clienteles, such as the elderly, workers, and young people while considering their needs and budgets.

Acti-bus is a not-for-profit organization that centralizes all of the Intermunicipal transportation services for people in the Coaticook area. The MRC includes 12 municipalities in the Coaticook region and has several development responsibilities ensuring an active, open and innovative community.
