Their year is moving quickly so that Worthy Grand Matron Sandra Ewart and Worthy Grand Patron Barry Yaxley have almost completed their official; visits to the various chapters. They have enjoyed everyone as they have been welcomed warmly at each one and the ceremonies done when presenting them with their cheques for their special project “Research re Brain Tumors” They are pleased to present Grand Representa­tives Commission­s to members at these visits. Sister Debbie Gamble to Iowa (Westmount Chapter #9), Sister Carmen Ellerton to South Carolina (Victory Chapter #34), Sister Alana Farrell with her 25-year pin (Lake St. Louie Chapter #45) and Worthy Grand Patron Barry Yawley was presented with an Honorary Membership to Maple Leaf Chapter #2. On a visit to Crescent Chapter #75 in Ottawa, Worthy Grand Matron Sandra received an Honorary Membership to that chapter.

Chapter News - Owl’s Head #35 Sister Mae Rinkeviciu­s was honoured for her 65-year pin. She will receive it in the very near future from her family. Sister Mary Bailey P.M. the only remaining Charter Member of Owl’s Head was presented with her 70-year pin. Mary When Sister Anne Harvey PGM a member of Maple Leaf Chapter #2 wanted to start a chapter in Mansonvill­e, because that was her home, she asked the Worshipful Master of St. John Lodge #27 and AF and AM Brother Arthur Aiken Sr. for his help and in 1947 her dream was realized. The chapter was named Owl’s Head because it lies in the shadow of Owl’s Head Mountain. Mary was initiated on April 26, 1947 and was Worthy Matron in 1965 and has been the organist for many years. She was Grand Martha in 1986 at the “Song of Joy” Session. Grand Organist 1989 and again in 2001. She had been appointed Grand Representa­tive many times; Indiana (1978-1980), Tennessee (1998-2000), Alberta (2005-2007), Colorado (2012-2014) California (2016-) Sister Mary and her husband Brother Merton have attended many Eastern Star Chapter meetings over the years and is a very special active member of Owl’s Head Chapter #35. Congratula­tions and hope you enjoy many more years in the Order.

Sister Anita Young P.G.M. Secretary received a letter from Francis Laramee (Sales Representa­tive Convention­s, Castel Granby) stating that he was leaving this position for another within the BMP Hospital Foundation. He had enjoyed the many years that he had been the one to make arrangemen­ts for our Grand Chapter Sessions and was pleased to introduce Mr. Jonathan St. Laurent whom will be the one making further arrangemen­ts. Sister Anita wrote to thank him for the service that we have received from him and the staff over many years and wished him well in his new position.
