Richmond BBQ Fest back again to make mouths water

-

York will be on site to taste what Townshippers can do. The winner will then be sent to Las Vegas for the final cook-off, where the wining prize, said Tousignant, is $1 million dollars.

Tousignant was excited to announce that little ones would be also be able to participate in a cooking competition of their own. Called Kids Q, the children, helped by their parents, of course, will be given a variety of meats to cook using their own recipes. Their prize, donated by Desjardins, will be their very own cooking set, and ribbons for the finalists.

“We really can’t wait.” She said. “The kids are already practicing. I think it’s going to be so cute.”

Appearing at this years’ festival, to suit the country theme, are the Honky Tonk Boys Band and Lipstick Rodeo, an all-female country band, which Tousignant said are excellent. The bands will play at a big supper at the end of the weekend.

The supper has a $75 cover fee, both for the food and for the shows. The competitions also have a participation fee. The rest of the event, however, is free to attend. Best of all, festival goers will be able to bring home some of the delicious barbequed food cooked on site.
