Annual Youth Talent Show in Mansonville

- The Scoop Mable Hastings

The Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre (CABMN) youth program will be holding its Annual Youth Talent Show on Saturday, June 17 at 7:00pm in the gymnasium of the Mansonville Elementary School in Mansonville. Cost for admission is $5.00 per adult and youth are admitted for free.

Youth performing range in ages 5-16 with the majority of performances by the Saturday dance group for youth ages 5-12 that meets weekly from 1 to 3pm at the centre located at 282 Principale in Mansonville. The dance program is offered through the CAB free of charge from October to December and then breaks for the ski season starting up again in March through to June.

This year the Youth Centre has been fortunate to have Patricia Lachance, parent volunteer helping the staff with the program. Recently, an older youth, Aleeyah Cervinka also signed up to start lending a hand. Volunteers are always welcome and as the show approaches each year there are always lots of things to do.

Dances in the show will include a variety of songs both new and not so new. The youth have worked hard and all they hope for in return is the joy of seeing the smiling faces of those who attend to cheer them on. Whether it is a five year old smiling from ear to ear as she tries to remember each move or a more seasoned youth of ten who has perfected both feet and hand moves simultaneously, there is just something wonderful about watching kids as they give all they have to do a performance.

A variety of desserts will be served at shows end giving parents and family a chance to visit and have their photo taken with their little star. According to some of the performers, autographs may also be available upon request.
