Théatre Lac-brome blooming with Pepler’s posies
Concerts will help to bring visibility to visual arts as well
An internationally renowned local artist has installed her latest work at Théatre Lac-brome in the new, bright and airy, perfectly lit reception hall. Paving the way for artists who are part of the Tour des Arts group in mid-july, Susan Pepler is thrilled with the visibility that this opportunity allows.
Sharing the space with sculptor Marc Andre Fortier, her flouncy, vibrant florals created with bold, wide brushstrokes are always eye-catching but somehow, with this fresh new backdrop, they have theatre-goers turning their heads. The response to the work has been exuberant to say the least. Helgi Soutar describes Pepler’s show as “stunning.” Suzon Baron was at the Angel Forrest’s concert and had a long look at Pepler’s work. “They look absolutely fabulous,” she said.
The full turnout for Forrest’s concert last Saturday allowed Pepler to see a lot of people reacting to her work. “It was fun to see that the piano/bar area and outdoor patio was buzzing with people enjoying the beautiful new space and the paintings.”
Pepler is excited about the new facility and says that it is “an awesome party room, perfect for post-performance mingling.”
Referring to Forrest, Pepler added that “she gave it her all while singing some great tunes like “House of the Rising Sun,” and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” The audience gave her a standing ovation in appreciation for her talent.
Pepler says that she is planning to go to several shows there this summer and is looking forward to meeting old friends and new ones in that “gorgeous new space.”
Her paintings will be on display there up until (and including) the annual House and Garden Tour day on July 12 when more than 900 house and garden lovers will convene to pick up their tickets.
Local artist Susan Pepler is delighted with the new reception hall at Théatre Lacbrome where she has installed her most recent works until July 12.
