Following attack by gunfire, Katevale residence destroyed by fire

Just three weeks after being riddled with a hail of bullets, a Sainte-catherine-de-hatley home was the victim of a fire Wednesday night.

The Sûreté du Québec has begun an investigation into the fire, which appears to be of criminal origin.

"The file has been transferred to us,” says SQ Estrie spokesperson Aurélie Guindon.” It was the same house that was riddled with bullets at the beginning of June. However, we cannot link the two events for the moment,

No one was injured in the fire, although the Cerisaie St. residence is a total loss.

On June 6, some 30 bullets were fired at the house. No suspects have been identified in this case. No one was injured in the fire.
