If you see one concert this year…this should be the one. What better way to celebrate the 150th birthday of this beautiful, complex and crazy country than with a big blowout concert that blends our musical roots in perfect harmony? Ten musicians will share the stage from all across this great land of ours! This will be the true Canadian experience!

This musical tour de force is led by Dave Gossage, who is often called “Montreal’s secret weapon.” Except it’s not such a secret. He’s one of the most experienced and respected musicians in Mativetsky’s Tabla. This drummer is considered Canada. Hi! My name is Pete and yes, cats need homes too! There are lots of us here at the shelter (and even more somewhere “out there” — reproducing and making more and more of us to fend for ourselves with no home or family). Please, can you humans do something about this?

Now, back to me. I arrived here a few months ago with my sister because my family was moving. I am a 6-year-old tabby male with gorgeous green eyes and I was terrified when I first got here. Now I am starting to trust people and allow a select few to rub my head! I think I will be able to “come out of myself” if I can find a nice quiet home with no other pets or children. Are you able to help me?

I live at the SPCA Montérégie, 178, ch. du Vide, Ste-angèle-de-monnoir (exit 37 on autoroute 10). Adoption hours are 24 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays. 450-460-3075 www.spcamonteregie.com www.facebook.com/spcamonteregie
