Longboards now welcome on Sherbrooke buses

a few months ago at the CMDS and, in November last year, the conclusion was reached that the time when long skateboarding was merely a recreational sport was over and that it should henceforth be regarded as an active mode of transport that encourages sustainable mobility. The STS is pleased to be able to follow the recommendations of the CMDS following the announcement of the City and wishes to offer longboarding citizens a sensible transportation mix allowing them to combine pleasure, safety, and reliability to get to their destination.
As a result of these new measures, the STS would like to remind the public of a few important instructions for the transportation of these objects on its buses that must be respected in order to make the experience of passengers pleasant and safe:
• The board must be held firmly in hand so that it does not interfere with traffic in the aisle. At no time can it be placed on the floor or attached horizontally to a backpack.
• If transported in a case for this purpose, it is subject to the same rules and must be held on the person
• Boards are allowed at all times on buses but, the driver is free to refuse transport if he considers that there is a threat to the safety of passengers
By welcoming the longboards on its vehicles, the STS is once again demonstrating its concern to improve its services on an ongoing basis according to the needs of its customers. Bruno Vachon, President of STS, says that " the STS is continuing its commitment to sustainable mobility in Sherbrooke and is proud to continue to encourage members of its community to adopt active and environmentally friendly modes of transportation."
