SPA enjoys record-breaking adoption campaign

manager and spokesperson, Cathy Bergeron.

"This is not to mention the incredible help we received from animal lovers who shared our social media promotional announcements,” she adds.”we are more than happy with this collective effort, and we would like to thank all the adopters, our staff, our volunteers, and our faithful Facebook community. We owe this tremendous success to the many people who care about animal welfare."

This activity allowed the SPA Estrie to regain a certain balance, but the team can’t afford to relax. "Since summer is the peak season at the shelter, we will be working over the next few days to recall the 60 or so cats that are currently being housed outside the shelter with host families. Once sterilized, vaccinated, dewormed, and de-loused, these cats will head to the adoption room," Bergeron says.

Public Fundraising Campaign: Another Success!

As part of the public fundraising campaign for its new shelter, the Estrie SPA also met another success last Sunday during its Pampering” event held at the Wouf Zone. "For a first edition, it was a fantastic experience that was greeted with great enthusiasm by the approximately 75 to 100 participants," says Bergeron. “From the first minutes of the activity, people were queuing at the door of the Wouf Zone, our partner of this great endeavour."

Next meeting: July 21 and 22

Also from a fundraising perspective for its new shelter, the Estrie SPA will be at the Fête du Lac des Nations on July 21 and 22 in the soccer field, at booth 17. "We will be on hand to inform people about our new refuge project and to raise donations, "says Bergeron. “In return, our facilitator in dog behavior will offer, Friday and Saturday, free workshops on the decoding of canine body language at 1 p.m. and again at 3 p.m.

"Those who can’t visit us but want to participate in the funding of the new shelter can make a donation online at Operationdouxrefuge.com, by mail or in person at our shelter, at 1139 Queen-victoria Blvd in Sherbrooke."
