Magog man faces sexual luring charges

-

A32-year old Magog man charged with the computer luring of minors began his trial Tuesday by admitting he didn’t verify the ages of his alleged victims, who were between 14 and 16 at the time of the alleged offenses. Frédéric Beaudoin was arrested for luring seven young girls in April 2016. His three-day trial began Tuesday at the Sherbrooke Courthouse in a case that has 25 alleged victims. Beaudoin also faces a charge of having complete sexual intercourse with one of the alleged victims.

Beaudoin is accused of having used Facebook to solicit babysitters or house cleaners in order to attract teenagers to his Ch. du Ruisseau-rouge home in Magog. During his Facebook exchanges, he was very complimentary to the girls. Subsequent to his arrest, police received a series of complaints from alleged victims at La Ruche High School.

Memphremagog Police Investigator Mario Leblanc testified that police recorded video interviews with the girls who actually went to Beaudoin’s home. All the alleged victims were interviewd, including some in Sherbrooke and Windsor.

Leblanc also testified that during the Facebook exchanges the conversation was not sexual in nature and that he asked for neither pictures nor videos of the girls.

Beaudoin’s trial before Court of Quebec Justice Hélène Fabi is scheduled to end tomorrow.
