Expos win big over Victoriavi­lle on the road

Sherbrooke earns third straight victory in 9-2 win

Alberto Rodriguez started the game by drawing a run on balls and rounded the bases later to score a few hitters later on a single from Christophe Jutras. The following batter Justin Fortin also hit a single to allow Eddie Lantigua to score and a bad play at the first base on the same play allowed Jutras to cross the plate with the third run for Sherbrooke. By the start of the bottom of the sixth inning the score was 6-0 for the road warrior Expos.

The only two runs Victoriavi­lle earned all came in the bottom of the next-to-last inning. The Expos quickly replied with three scores in the seventh inning, one on a single from Marc-antoine Provost and two on a single from Jean-patrick Mailhot to finish off the scoring.

Sherbrooke, now 5-18 on the season, will play three of their next four games at home in Amédée-roy Stadium. Sherbrooke will take on Coaticook tomorrow night at 8 pm. On Saturday, the Expos will have a double-header featuring Montreal (2 pm) and a rematch with Coaticook (6 pm) before travelling to Stjérôme on Sunday for their final game of the weekend.

Against Coaticook (6-15), the Expos are 2-3. The last time the two clubs faced off Sherbrooke hammered the Big Bill 23-7. Against the Montreal Brewers Sherbrooke is 0-1, losing a tightly contested 1-0 game back on May 28th.
