Around the world in five days
music, food and activities typical to the regions they represent.
Over 600 artists are coming to preform, both from Sherbrooke and from a variety of other cultures. There are also 70 exhibitions offering activities such as lantern making, African dance workshops, and arts and crafts using recycled materials. For foodies, there are restaurants set up on site, offering flavors from around the world, from the most exotic produce to Canadian goods. Families will also have their share of fun with activities such as inflatable games and trampolines.
At the shows, festival goers can listen to music from anywhere: Latin tunes to Bollywood, passing through Hawaii. Some of the bands preforming include Jerry Hunter, Kitchen Party and, from Sherbrooke, Rodeo Drive and Ze Radcliffe Fanfare, to name a few.
It is not the first time Rodeo Drive preforms at the FTMS. Francis Demers, Rodeo Drive’s frontman, has been playing at the festival for three years.
“It’s always nice to play at home,” said Demers. “I used to go watch the shows every year, have my shish taouk at the festival. It’s a wonderful experience. They’re a great group of people, very fun to work with.”
