The “Federation des Motocyclistes de Sentiers du Quebec” (FMSQ), is a non-profit organization for Endurocross racing enthusiasts. Endurocross racing consists of high speed racing threw rugged natural wooded trails, over rocks, threw mud and grass tracks. The event will include: moto, quad and side by side races.
This weekend, August 5 and 6, Mike Mierzwinski who is ranked 9th in the “expert” category along with family (Team Polak) are promoters for the event to take place at the A.C. Ranch located at 43 Ch. de la Pipeline in Potton. There will be a cantine on site as well as the opportunity for racers to camp for the weekend. Races are attended by people from all over Quebec and parts of Ontario normally between 800-1000 people.
“We are proud to bring this race to “our” hometown,” says Mike Mierzwinski. “It has been a lot of work preparing for the race but we are aiming for both safety and fun.”
Mike, his cousin Simon, brother-inlaw Adam and their families all participate in the races and the weekend events are a family affair. The preparation for this weekend’s race has been a family and friend effort as well.
“We head out on racing weekends with our families (a two day event) and meet up with other racing friends and enthusiasts,” explains Mierzwinski. “Hosting the racers who will attend this weekend’s event will give us the opportunity to share in the beauty of the region from which we come,” he continued.
Seven years ago Mierzwinski began racing in the junior category. The experience left him hooked and he beams with pride when talking about his children and their racing enthusiasm. There are approximately ten Provincial races each year from May to October with most happening some two hours or more from Potton. Team Polak consists of those pictured here.
“We appreciate the A.C. Ranch allowing the use of their property for the event and we are hoping for a good turnout,” Mierzwinski said. Spectators are welcome
