Food fair fares well despite the rain

- By Gordon Lambie

The Annual Bouffe ton Centro food festival took place in downtown Sherbrooke this weekend. On Friday night the festival saw local bars and eateries set up shop atop the Webster Street parking garage for a ticketed dance party built around the theme of gourmet food. On Saturday Wellington Street North was closed to traffic and opened up to pedestrians who were welcome to walk the length of the street and try samples from local restaurants while taking in live performances by acrobats and musicians in a festive atmosphere. The lunchtime crowd quickly found themselves rained out by the significant downpour that settled over the region, but clearing in the evening saw the streets filled with visitors seeking out a gastronomic adventure.
