The Lennoxville & District Women’s Centre is excited to continue successful campaigns and activities in the fall!

-

As an extension to our LDWC Playgroup, we have recently launched: The Parent Tap, a discussion group designed to tap into every parent’s potential. Parent Tap is a monthly forum for parents (partners welcome) to come together as adults to support each other, to explore parenting techniques, and obtain resources for problem solving. Led by facilitators Charity Jayne Kerrigan (Early Childhood Education specialist) and Rowan Smith (international board certified lactation consultant and doula), each two-hour session will dig deep into common themes that typically surface during the preschool years. Fall sessions will begin on October 11 and will take place the first Wednesday of every month.

LDWC Activities will pick up again in the fall: LDWC Playgroup on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to noon (resuming September 12), OWLS (Outstanding Wise Ladies Sharing) on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. (resuming September 13), Painting and Bridge Group (resuming September 8, 2017) and Beginners YOGA and YOGA for moms and kids (resuming September 13). Prenatal courses are offered to women and their partners three times a year at the Marguerite Knapp Building (next session is due to start September 26).

The fall also brings with it our most important campaigns. We invite members of the community to contact us if they wish to be involved in The 16 Days of Action to End Sex and Gender based Violence (a series of articles to raise awareness), and/or Secret Santa (gifts for families).

A $10 membership to the LDWC not only gives you access to a lower rate on all events and activities, but helps us provide resources and assistance to women and children in our community. For more information, like us on Facebook, visit our website: www.ldwc.ca or call us at (819) 564-6626.
