VSF subsidises Richmond cheese shop

-

The Val-saint-françois MRC has announced the granting of $30,000 in financial assistance to the Fromagerie Le Campagnard from its Local Investment Fund. The subsidized project also benefited from the professional advice and support services provided by the Regional and Local Development Service of the MRC du Valsaint-françois.

The company’s co-owners, Jacques Saucier and Johanne Caron, have several years of experience in the field and both worked at the Fromagerie Du Charme in Saint-rémy-de-tingwick.

Fromagerie Le Campagnard, which is located on Craig Street in Richmond, specializes in the production of cheddar cheese and also features a restaurant where one can buy a variety of dishes such as poutines, salad, and spaghetti. “We are proud to contribute to the creation of this new business in the region. It already employs three people and plans to create four more jobs by 2019, “says Richmond Mayor Mark-andré Martel.

The regional and local development department is responsible for the mandate given to it by the MRC of Val-saint-françois to support for entrepreneurship, economic diversification, tourism, culture, agri-food, and rural development, and runs the Place aux jeunes en région.
