Shelley Stevens found dead

where she was last seen the Sunday before.

Teams of police, firefighters and search and rescue volunteers spent last week searching for the 40-year-old woman, well-known in the community and often seen walking in the area where she had disappeared.

Stevens’ body was located during the day on Thursday with the help of an aerial drone canvassing wooded areas that were difficult to reach on foot.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. According to local media reports, an initial exam of the body showed no signs of violence.
