Order of the Eastern Star raised over $400 for the BMP
Every year under the grandstand, the Order of the Eastern Star shares space with the Masonic Chapters in the region. The three Eastern Star chapters, No. 2 Maple Leaf (which meets in Stanbridge East), No. 17 Cowansville (which meets in Knowlton), and No. 35 Owl’s Head (which meets in Mansonville) shared the rental of a table. They always have sheets of collector pins which are offered after a donation has been made to the Brome Missisquoi Perkins Hospital, which is located in Cowansville.
Several hundred dollars are raised every year, two dollars at a time. Members from the three chapters share time at the table. This year’s Worthy Grand Matron of the province of Quebec, Sandra Ewart from Maple Leaf No. 2, also spent time in the booth.
It was exciting on Saturday afternoon when the first transformer blew and there was no power for about an hour. People making their way under the

Donations to the hospital doubled in that time. People seemed to find it a challenge to look at the selection of pins by “phone” light. By the end of the weekend over $400 was raised for the BMP. The chapters cover the rental of the table and 100 per cent of the money raised goes to the hospital. Members of the three chapters thank contributors.
