Being Hank & Patsy

-

Back by popular demand… Laura Teasdale’s new show Being Hank & Patsy, a musical memoire starring Ralph Steiner and Laura Teasdale. For those who missed it in the spring, now’s your chance.

In this true story, two actors are hired to play the roles of country music’s most iconic heroes, Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Fate makes their paths cross and they fall in (and then out) of love with each other! The stories of Hank and Patsy are revealed through the eyes of two passionate actors learning to portray them. The classic Hank & Patsy tunes that they love so dearly are mingled with other personal favourites that come out of Ralph & Laura’s true story. We glimpse their lives on stage as Hank & Patsy, but also the musical romance that blossomed back stage at campfire jams and gigs. The show is funny, personal, and touching as the true stories of the legends intertwine with the story of their rocky relationship. Above all, this memoire is a testament to the power of great music to bring people together and tear their hearts apart.

Writer Teasdale says she is soon heading to Nova Scotia for a very extended visit to spend time with her family. She couldn’t resist doing one more run of Being Hank & Patsy before she goes. “People kept saying they missed the show last time…and it’s not like Ralph and I need much convincing. We love this music. And the show’s so intimate with just the two of us making fun of ourselves and our crazy relationship.” She said. Everyone who’s seen them perform together can see their joy in this great music.

If you’ve ever wondered how the heck it came to be that everyone calls Ralph & Laura Hank & Patsy, this show is for you. If you love to laugh, this show is for you. If you love those old hurting country songs, this show is for you!

In Knowlton, Being Hank & Patsy is on Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Inn (50 Rue Victoria). Tickets are available at Brome Lake Books.
