Alan Jackson to release newest album in 2018

- Country Connection Jessie Pelletier Aulis

Alan Jackson is releasing new music for his faithful fans. You could swear this happens to celebrate his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. ‘The Older I Get’ is the first single released from the upcoming album.

Jackson’s next album will be his first new studio recording since 2015 and the release is planned for 2018 with no precise date yet.

His induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame is the latest in a long line of career-defining accolades that include three CMA Entertainer of the Year honours, more than 25 years of membership in the Grand Ole Opry, a 2016 Billboard ranking as one of the Top 10 Country Artists of All-time, induction to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Heritage Award as the most-performed country songwriter-artist of ASCAP’S first 100 years.

About the new song, Jackson said that it reflects a lot of how he feels these days. The song was written by Adam Wright, Hailey Whitters, and Sarah Allison Turner. Jackson said that it was a good song, but he wanted some changes with the lyrics.

He wished the message was more positive, so he asked the songwriters. He wanted them to change the approach on being older and wiser and more content, so they rewrote a few things.

“The older I get / The more I think / You only get a minute / Better live while you’re in it / ‘Cause it’s gone in a blink,” Jackson sings in the opening lines of the song. The reflective ballad is filled with the revelations and understandings that can only come from a life well-lived, and the words and melody create an instant image of Jackson’s own place in life and country music.

‘The older I get / The more thankful I feel / For the life I’ve had / And all the life I’m living still,” Jackson sings with the raw honesty that he built his career on.

The lanky singer will perform on this year’s CMA Awards telecast November 8, and he will soon announce tour plans for the coming year.

Life is good to Darius Rucker Just before releasing his fifth country album on Capitol Records Nashville, When Was The Last Time, Darius Rucker celebrated a bucket list moment. Performing on the iconic stage of the Apollo Theater in New York City. It was sold out.

The platinum-selling artist released the album’s second single, a song he wrote with Derek George and Travis Hill, ‘For The First Time,’ which is the followup to his most recent No. 1 single, ‘If I Told You,’ marking eight country No. 1 singles for Rucker since his country music debut in 2008.

The Charleston, South Carolinian will be busy promoting the new album with appearances on Today Show (Oct. 24), The View (Oct. 25), The Chew (Oct. 27), Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and more. The three-time Grammy winner’s new album was worth the wait.

Another master plan for Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks is looking back at his extensive career with the release of a fivepart multi-media anthology that kicks off on November 14, with a first volume that dives into his first five years in show business.

Part 1: The First Five Years, looks at Brooks’ spectacular rise from 1989-1993

in his own words, as he tells the stories behind creating, recording, and promoting his first five albums for Capitol Nashville during his ride to the top. His memories are complemented by others who were there, including the songwriters, musicians, and Brooks’ longtime manager, Bob Doyle.

While Brooks wrote his own entries in the oral history, the book is billed as the first book about his career he has written with the collaboration from those involved with creating, recording, and promotion of the first five albums.

The 240-page hardcover book includes more than 150 never-before-seen photos, as well as five CDS, including outtakes, first takes, demos and masters. Of the 52 songs included on the CDS, 19 are new, unreleased or demo versions, sessions charts, tracking sheets.

The new anthology from Garth Brooks, Part 1, The First Five Years, is now available for preorder. You can pre-order wherever books are sold or on Amazon. Garth has also launched a new website for the anthology: http://anthology.garthbrooks.com/.

Check out the video on the website to hear Garth talking about the craziest five years of his life, along with previews of what the anthology looks like and has included inside.

It will be on sale November 14.

Once again, Garth has come out with a brilliant idea which will change the way things have been done in country music. I guess that we can now refer to him as Garth, no family name needed. There’s only one like him!
