Past Borough President David Price passing the torch on to Claude Charron the new Borough President
Coaticook
Simon Madore, previously a council member, is the new mayor of Coaticook. He won the position with 2,277 over Raynald Drolet, who earned 1,658 votes.
Councilor Seat 6 was won by Guy Jubinville (2,656 votes) over Nicholas Majeau (1188 votes).
In the municipality, 56.4 per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot in the mayoral race.
The balance of council seats were elected by acclamation.
Ogden
The new mayor of Ogden is Richard Violette, who won the position over Alain Carrier with a count of 169 votes to 92.
Five of the six council positions were elected by acclamation.
The remaining position, councillor Seat 2, was won by incumbent Jean R. Roy with 157 votes over Philippe Danton at 103 votes.
The municipality had 38.3 per cent voter turnout for the position of mayor out of 690 registered electors. In Lennoxville, Claude Charron is the new Borough President with Jennifer Garfat and Bertrand Collins making up the rest of the borough council.
Voter participation in Sherbrooke
Just over 53,000 electors in Sherbrooke took advantage of their right to vote in the 2017 municipal election.
That represents 44.1% of the electors registered on the list of electors, demonstrating a 2.1% increase in voter turnout compared to the 2013 municipal election.
Here is the voter turnout today in each of the districts. This rate is not cumulated with those of the advance vote and the itinerant vote (12.1%).
The borough of Lennoxville had 4,118 registered electors.
