An update of what’s happening at the Sherbrooke Women’s Connection

-

September: Fall Fair

is always a fun time and the weather was great! There were a lot of homemade crafts, baked goods, and even a Silent Auction with new or nearly new items. The proceeds ($317) from the sale went to RSVP Ministries Volunteer staff. Thanks to all who brought items. There was beautiful classical music by the Frazer Family. Ethel Wright showed her jug collection. Each jug represented a part her faith journey. Her story was excellent and inspired us.

October: An Amazing Time

with great music sung by Caroline St. Onge. She also showed a video presentation of her face painting creations. Our guest speaker, Ruth Fairfield shared her faith journey in a unique connection to an amazing knitting project. When one knits a project, life has a way of interrupting. In life, things can become a tangled mess. Ruth kept us focused and looking towards God as our guide.

November: Next gathering:

Sensible Ideas for You! I’m looking forward to it at the ANAF “Hut” at 300 St. Francis Street, Sherbrooke, QC, J1M 0B3, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 9. There is a small entrance fee for all the fun, food and friendships. This is a real deal for a couple hours of relaxation. We often promote local businesses and this time Scentsy Rep Rose Fowler Mcvety will share Scentsy ideas for us! Our inspirational speaker Valerie Rout is talking about “Legacy: What do You Want Yours to Be?” and how she discovered this in her faith journey. Valerie’s husband will be joining us with his guitar and strumming some sentimental chords!

For more information, please contact Pauline Goodenough at 819-563-8061 or email us at sherbrookewc@yahoo.ca. Come and see what you have been missing. We always have lots of door prizes, and delightful snacks made by the Ladies Auxiliary of the “Hut”.

Upcoming: Christmas with Celebrate Us!

On December 7 men are invited. More information to come.

The Leadership Team has decided to move to a beautiful new location! Grace Village 2017-2018 Team. From left to right. Back Row: Karen Macdonald, Jennifer Poirier, Nadine Fafard, Melody Weller. Front Row: Joyce Copping, Carol Imbeault, Pauline Goodenough, Sharon Hughes. Missing from photo is Brenda Imbeault. has graciously welcomed us and we will host our events there.

They will be open to both their residents and to the outside community. Visitors from the community who want to participate in the events will park in the back of Grace Village and use the back entrance. Because we will be opening up the events to both men and women, Sherbrooke Women’s Connection will become Sherbrooke Connection as of 2018.
