The MRC Memphremagog and the City of Magog have announced the launching of a discounted taxi service for youth aged 12 to 17 living in Magog.

This new service will allow young people to go wherever they want throughout the City of Magog and the Mont Orford tourist resort for the modest fee $3 per trip.

"As we pointed out last January, when the MRC deemed it appropriate to administer public transit and adapted transit services directly, we intend to put forth efforts to support municipal initiatives in the area of transportation development in order to better meet the needs of our population," says MRC Memphremagog prefect, Jacques Demers.

Magog mayor, Vicky Mae-hamm, adds, "We are more than proud of implementing this service, as it is one of the priorities listed in our recent Family and Seniors Policy, as well as a request from the Municipal Youth Committee. We hope that this service will enable us to empower our youth and to promote public transit, in complete safety."
