Knowlton Lions Club Christmas food baskets and toys

Volunteers are needed for assembly of the Christmas baskets, which will take place at Knowlton Academy on Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m. (To extend a helping hand please contact Bev or Gary Crandall at 450-243-6608.) Baskets will be available for pick-up at Knowlton Academy from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 16.

People with new unwrapped toys, for inclusion in the baskets are asked to drop them off at Knowlton Academy or the Community Center before the 14th of December.

Poinsettia­s will be delivered by volunteers to area senior homes and to elderly and shutins. To put forth the name of a deserving senior, or for additional informatio­n about the Christmas food baskets or poinsettia­s, contact Louise Wing at 450-243-5521.

The traditiona­l Christmas cake is available in different outlets throughout the area, at the post office, the BMO, and the CIBC; for informatio­n contact Sue Perkins, 450-242-9896.

The Lions Club is also preparing for its annual Santa Claus parade, which will take place December 2 at 1 p.m. The parade will start at Wind Mill Plastics and end at Knowlton Academy where Santa Claus will be on hand to greet area children. Prizes will be awarded to the best floats. For security reasons each float must, at all times during the parade be accompanie­d by an adult walking beside it. Also no candies or other objects can be thrown from a float. For parade informatio­n contact Bev Crandall at 450-243-6608.
