November with Richmond 50+ Club

- Love your family

On the 6th, President Matty Banfill welcomed everyone to Military Whist, but before the games began, an election of executive for 2017-2018 was held. Ron Jones chaired the election process with the following results: President Beverley Jones, Vice-president Vera Hughes, Past President Matty Banfill, Secretary Elizabeth Mastine and Treasurer Shirley Beasley. At the conclusion of play, top score of 30 flags went to Captain Nicole Clark with Sylvia Morin, Marie-berthe & Gerald Skerry. Low score went to the table of Captain Fran Dewar with Rose Oakley, Vera Hughes & Marie-paule Pariseau.

November 13 started with a meeting of the new executive prior to the afternoon’s activity. President Beverley asked Norma Morin to continue with the Sunshine portfolio and Linda Badger to be in charge of the kitchen with Matty Banfill assisting her and all agreed. All 50+ members voted to make a donation to the Wales Home Foundation. Then the new President welcomed everyone to an afternoon of “500” and at the conclusion of play, Marie-berthe Skerry had a high score of 4380, followed by Sylvia Morin with 3800. Rose Oakley won the prize for low score.

The 20th started with a welcome from President Bev, followed by the members voting on their choice of caterer for the annual Christmas dinner, to be held on Monday, December 18. Caterer Helen Begin was chosen. Military Whist got underway and with a score of 33 flags, first place went to Captain Marie-berthe Skerry, Matty & Evie Banfill and Gerald Skerry. The table with low score went to Captain Hugh Lancaster, Ron Jones, Jeannine Lancaster and that notorious Mr. Dummy.

Looking forward to an afternoon of “500”, the President welcomed everyone on the 27th. At the conclusion of the afternoon, Jim Stevens with 4920 points took top score with Harry Morrill in second with 4080 points. Low score was earned by Klea Mastine.

Thanks to all the hostesses who supplied such delicious treats each week. December will be along shortly. Please let Shirley know at 819-839-1589 by December 11 if you are coming to the Christmas dinner on the 18th. You are welcome to bring a friend. There is a charge for this delicious meal, well worth the price with Military Whist to follow.
