New members of the board of directors

-

Hello everyone, On Monday October 30, 2017, Lennoxville and District Community Aid held its annual general and public meeting where financial statements, modification of the bylaws and all activity reports were presented. We then proceeded with the election of the administrators for the new year. We welcome Mandi-lee Smith and Tim Goddard as new members of the board of directors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank two members who have stepped down: Rena Astbury and Kitty Draper. We thank them both for their involvement on our board for the past six years. Each one of these volunteers has been active with different responsibilities while on the board. Their valuable time and input was appreciated.

Everyone who has ever been, or is presently, involved on our board of directors always puts the needs of our clients and volunteers ahead of their own personal needs. We are very grateful to all of them for doing so and want them to know they are not forgotten.

We are pleased to inform you that we have selected Patricia O’malley to fill the position of administrative assistant. She will join us as of November 2017.

Lennoxville and District Community Aid has been working tirelessly for the past 36 years at making the life of our seniors a priority. We want them to live an active and positive life.

Seniors wish to stay at home as long as they possibly can and this is what we are offering through our many services.

We cover basic needs such as Meals on Wheels, escort-transport, and pedicare services; we offer a prevention of falls program; we support caregivers; we encourage active living through our walking group, presentations to the general public and our OPALS service; and we work at preventing isolation and loneliness in seniors with our community meals and friendly visit services. We also aim at keeping people of all ages active by offering them the possibility to get involved and make a difference in the life of a senior from their community.

Here is a comment from one of our participants: “When I was 60-65 years old, I never would have thought that I would be out here walking twice a week with friends at 90.” See, that is healthy aging!

We wish each and everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Gift idea: we can provide you with a gift certificate for the Meals on Wheels program. Great and useful way to support a loved one.
