Lennoxville Golden Agers

-

On December 5 seniors gathered for our yearly Christmas Party. An enjoyable afternoon of music was provided by Janice Graham, Ron Haseltine and Wayne Nutbrown. Very few dancers took to the floor but those who did enjoyed it.

Punch, crackers and dip were available throughout the afternoon.

Special guests, besides our musicians, were Chaude Charron, President, Lennoxville Borough; Robert Nish, Ken Huff, Donna Garfat, Rev. Linda Buchanan, Raymond and Norma Carrier, Grace Betts, Robert and Norma Harrison, Brian Suitor, Jack and Frankie Noble who acted as elves and helped with serving the coffee and tea. Much appreciated by all.

Eugene Naylor led us in a game. The winners were Robert Hall, Kay Hartwell, Robert Davis, Bill Hyman and Doris Coates. Eugene also led us in guessing the lyrics of a song. Winners were Fern Mcconnell, Gwen Bayley and Shirley Patton.

A contest to guess jelly beans in a bottle was won by Jack Kimpton guessing 104 and the bottle had 105. Good guess, Jack!

Grace was said by Rev. Linda Buchanan. Pat read a poem given to her by Elsie Moore.

Six plates were marked on the bottom with Christmas tags. These winners received the Poinsettias which were used to decorate the tables. Keith Vintinner, Caroline Rowe, Louise Nutbrown, Ann Blue, Helen Nobes and Edith Wesbroom won these plants.

Claude Charron wished us all special greetings. Winners of other prizes were George Martel, Frances Smith, Robert Davis and Robert Harrison.

Pat thanked everyone who made this afternoon possible. Eugene thanked Pat for her work for the Club.

A special thank you to Familprix, Pizzaville and Clark’s for the donation of gift certificates and to Mr. Lafond for the donation of clementines.

Santa Claus arrived amid singing of “Here Comes Santa Claus” and he gave out clementines to each person in attendance. He also managed a dance with Mrs. Claus.

Thank you again to Billie Lidstone and his helpers for our turkey meal and to David Brown and Gloria Laroche for clean up. Thanks goes to Stan Brown for his contribution towards clean up. The Nobles, George Martel and Mr. Charron also pitched in to clear tables.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed 2018 to all. Next meeting January 16, 2018.
