Featured pet: Tom Black

-

As we celebrate the start of yet another new year, we'd like to take a moment to remind everyone about our wonderful old friend Tom Black who, after almost three years, is still waiting to find a family.

Tom Black was first brought to the shelter one cold winter day. He had been living outdoors for quite some time and was thin and quite dishevelled. Despite his sorry state it was clear that he was happy to have a warm place to sleep and a fresh plate of food. Our long, cold winters take a toll on even the most robust of strays.

Although adored by all, we are hopeful that 2018 will finally be the year that Tom Black wins over the heart of some very lucky adopter. He may not be the most refined cat you've ever met but he has a heart of gold and we are determined to find him a home where he wakes up every day feeling like he is the luckiest cat in the world. He is safe and loved but a shelter is not a home.

Tom Black is people friendly and readily comes to greet visitors to our cat room especially if he suspects they have a pocketful of treats. Although he has no animosity towards other cats, he doesn't tend to engage them. He is sometimes picked on by other males so a home where he is the only cat or with a friendly and gentle female is probably best.

At approximately 5, Tom Black is a calm, good natured and happy cat and while he fully indulges in many a long leisurely nap, when the mood strikes, he is actually quite playful. He really enjoys chasing after his toys and he generally can't resist swatting playfully at any objects that we dangle in front of him.

We hope it won't be much longer before someone gives this big lug of a cat a chance. We know he'll be a fabulous and loyal companion.

To meet Tom Black, please consider dropping by at our weekly adoption event that takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The shelter is located at 2405 rue Griffin (Route 247) in Ogden.

If you can't make it on Saturday, please send an email to frontieranimalsociety@gmail.com and we'll be happy to set something up.
