Featured pet: Lou

-

Lou first appeared in this column in November of last year. Sadly, he is still with us and since he is not well suited to shelter living, we are sharing him again. He is stressed and unhappy and he really needs a home. Lou is also putting on far too much weight but managing how much he eats in a shelter setting isn't all that easy.

At approximately 3, Lou is a handsome, smart and loving young cat. Although when he found himself homeless and hungry, he was bold enough to wander into a local garage in search of food and warmth, he is a little fearful and tends to be a little shy when meeting new people. He won't necessarily be the first to greet you as you enter the cat room but if you seek him out, he will be glad for the attention and company. Lou is much more a "people cat" than a "cat cat" so living in a colony isn't proving to be good for his morale. He has no animosity towards other cats, he just prefers human companionship. Lou does now have one cat friend so it's nice to know he at least has a buddy to keep him company.

The consummate cat, Lou enjoys long, lazy naps, loves mealtimes (a little too much!) and is very content to be pampered. He also likes to lounge in the sun and during the summer months he took full advantage of our outdoor "catio." What Lou loves best though is to cuddle. He will be so much happier and at ease in a home where he can be amiably underfoot while you cook, sit comfortably on your lap while you read or watch a movie and at the end of a long day snuggle up beside you in bed.

Lou is a great cat who is very ready to leave shelter living behind. We know that once adopted, he will fully indulge in his new life as a much loved family cat. As noted, although Lou has no issue with the other cats in the shelter, he likes people best so will be fine as your one and only. Lou is not, however, fond of dogs.

Lou has been overlooked for far too long.

To meet Lou, please consider attending our cat adoption open house which takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m to noon at 2405 Griffin (Route 247) in Ogden. If Saturday isn't a good time, please send an email to frontieranimalsociety@gmail.com or call the shelter at 819.876.7785 and we'll be happy to arrange your visit at a time that is more convenient.
