St. Paul’s Guild and Anglican Church Women, Bury, QC 2017 Annual Report

St. Paul’s Guild and A.C.W held nine regular meetings in the Church Hall during the year

2017 with the following members Serena Wintle and Sandra Morrison having perfect attendance.

A long time member Audrey Dougherty passed away in January and another member, Judy

Statton, in September.

Each meeting opened with prayer, scripture readings, other appropriat­e readings and occasional­ly by singing a hymn.

The Guild shared the cost of the Remembranc­e wreath with the Bury W.I. The wreath was placed at the Cenotaph during the Remembranc­e Day Service by Serena Wintle and Sandra Morrison.

Ten Seafarers Christmas boxes were packed and sent to Lennoxvill­e to be taken to Quebec for the sailors at Christmas.

A few members attended the World Day of Prayer as guests of the Sawyervill­e United

Church Women.

Disburseme­nts were made to St. Paul’s Home Financial Campaign, Foundation CHUS, Alexander Galt Christmas Baskets, PWRD Fund re medical supplies, and St. Paul’s Memorial Fund in memory of two departed past members. Monetary gifts were presented to our faithful helpers who assist in the upkeep of our church and property on an annual basis.

Christmas baskets and gifts were delivered to the sick and shut-ins and those living alone. Muriel Watson verified the treasurer’s book for 2017.

On an unanimous motion by members, all officers accepted to retain the same office for 2018.

The regular meetings are attended by faithful members and friends. All enjoyed refreshmen­ts and a social time following each meeting.
