Mont Orford toasts Memphremag­og Citizenshi­p

Free ski day on Sunday

The Mont Orford ski resort will be holding Memphremag­og Citizenshi­p Day. This weekend, on Sunday, February 18, residents of the MRC can ski for free.

The free ski day is part of a weekend of activities scheduled for the weekend, including free guide services, a day care centre, tours, lessons, and tastings of local delicacies.

To obtain a fee ski pass on Sunday, residents can show up at the ticket office with the following documents:

For this one week in February, schools and community organizati­ons across the entire province of Quebec highlight a topic that Phelps lives and breathes: perseveran­ce. Phelps started in 2012 to help reduce the unacceptab­ly high drop out rates in our area: one in three students in Stanstead do not complete high school, a fact that drives much of what Phelps does. 5 years after launch, we see a change not only in the youth but

- A citizen card

- Driver's license

- Tax account

- Lease

- Invoice from Hydro-québec or a telephone / cable services provider

- For children: A report card or proof of residence or relationsh­ip will be accepted.

Hooked on School week provides us all with the opportunit­y to speak frankly with our youth about why it is important to stay in school: to continue learning, to get a better job and to have choices. Phelps Aide Phelps Helps is a rural community non-profit striving to reduce the elevated drop-out rate in the Stanstead area. Phelps was started in 2012 by two community members, and has grown from a single program to Conditions:

Free passes will be limited to one day ticket per eligible person. Every child must be accompanie­d by an adult and the adult must be able to prove the child's relationsh­ip or residence.
