Valliere

Early in the new year, Valliere was heartlessly tossed out of a car window in the municipality of Stanstead. Valliere, who is a calm and loving cat, was discarded as if he was as worthless and insignificant as a piece of trash. To treat an animal this way shows a complete an utter lack of compassion.

Why choose to be so cruel?

To say that Valliere was actually lucky that day, might seem an odd sentiment, but the reality is, things could have turned out far worse. In that moment, Valliere would experience the worst of human nature and he would experience the best of human nature.

Thanks to the quick action of a good Samaritan, not only was Valliere rescued and brought to safety, but as the car sped away, she also had the wherewithal to take down the licence plate number and subsequently reported the incident to the SPA in Sherbrooke.

We are pleased to report that following an investigation, the person who committed this callous act of animal cruelty was charged with animal abandonment and from what we understand, was issued a very hefty fine. We aren't able to provide precise details on the specific charges that were filed but we are pleased with the outcome.

Should you witness an act of animal cruelty or abandonment, please don't turn a blind eye. Always report it! Locally, the number to call is 819.821.4727 extension 110 (SPA de l'estrie). Your call will be kept strictly confidential.

Valliere is safe and sound and now that the court case is over, he can officially be placed up for adoption. We have all come to love and appreciate the resilience of this gentle cat. He has adapted well to shelter living and although he doesn't tend to actively engage with the other cats, he has no malice whatsoever and we feel certain he will integrate well into a home with other pets. Despite his ordeal, he remains an easy going and affectionate cat who enjoys interacting with people.

If you are looking for a great young cat, please consider Valliere. For information about adopting, please send an email to
