- Record Staff

The organizers of the popular Ayer’s Cliff Rodeo announced the programming and activities planned for its fifth year on Wednesday, including a dynamic musical lineup and new activities for young and old.

Musical performances in 2018 will begin on Thursday, June 14 with the group "Les Cajuns, " led by singer Phil Lauzon, who was introduced to the general public during the 2014 edition of La Voix. On Friday Canadian country music star Brett Kissel will take the stage followed on Saturday by Alberta's Dan Davidson, who is currently opening all of Kissel’s tour dates. Several Quebec artists are also included in the lineup including Jon Macaulay, Treecy Mcneil, Peter Myles, Youngstown, Valerie Crete, and local favourite "Slightly Haggard".

The fifth edition of the rodeo will also offer even more activities for younger visitors. In addition to the very popular inflatable games that organizers promise will be even more impressive this year, Sherbrooke's Motos Thibault Marine riding academy will be on site Saturday, June 16 to offer mini-cross riding workshops to children from 5 to 12. Cirque des Etoiles will also be on-site to offer children interactive introductory circus workshops on Sunday. Old favourites like the Quinn mini-farm, make-up artists, and the delegation of mascots will be back to liven up family day on Sunday.

Again this year, the show presented in the arena for the gymkhana and rodeo competitions promises to be breathtaking and will keep thrill seekers on the edge of their seats thanks to the expertise of the Quebec Rodeo Team chaired by Joey Tardif. Sports activities will be presented on all four days of the event in a schedule adapted to all disciplines, tastes, and above all, to all generations.
