Magog’s Cultural Rendezvous offers flamenco, film dubbing, and silk
The City of Magog is inviting the public to take advantage of the coming of spring by participating in its Cultural Rendezvous which will take place on April 6, 7 and 8. The gathering features a diversified program that promotes connection between artists and the public and provides free or lowcost activities.
Flamenco show and workshop
Extracts from the TABLAO flamenco show and a practical workshop will be offered on an art form that has the power to move and captivate the audience. The teaching of palmas (clapping) and classical movements is planned, followed by a rehearsal of the choreography accompanied by singing and guitar. The performance and workshop will take place on April 6 beginning at 8 p.m. at the Magog Community Centre, 95 Merry St. The event is free for those under 17 and $5 for those with a valid resident’s card. Non-residents will be charged $10.
Initiation to dubbing
From an excerpt of an animated short film, participants will try to synchronize their voices with a character's mouth movements and scrolling text on the screen.. This workshop takes place, Saturday, April 7 from 1-4 p.m. at the Magog Cultural Centre, Saint-david St., Saturday, April 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Family participation is $5 with a resident’s card and $10 for non-residents. Initiation to silk painting
The event also features a conference on the origins of silk and a demonstration of the silk painting technique. Participants will even be invited to give it a try. This workshop takes place Sunday, April 8 from 1-4 p.m. in room 200 of the Magog Community Centre. Admission is free.
