The Manoir in March

- Submitted by Julie Paquette Réceptionniste Le Renaissance Manoir St-francis

We have had a very busy month of March at Le Renaissance Manoir St-francis. We started the month off celebrating Martisor which is a Romanian tradition marking the beginning of spring. The women of the Manoir were given beautiful red and white pins, made by a handful of residents, to ward off the cold winds and rain of spring. The residents who chose to participate were also welcomed to a delicious Romanian meal created by our chef with the help of our director Gabriela (who is Romanian) and her husband. We had a nice dinner out at Sebby's to check out the new renovations. We also celebrated womens day with a fun quiz about women that we handed out to each table during the meals on March 8th. We had a nice visit from some furry friends from Khalizoo, we had a nice Saint-patricks and birthday dinner where everyone dressed in green. Some were even given nice green accessories to wear and a nice cold green beer or gingerale to consume. We had the beautiful voices of Chorale Évasion visit us at the end of the month, we had several sales as well as the regular church services, films and crafts. We also had our spring carnival which began with the residents beating the staff (as per usual :() at wii bowling and ending with a fun sleigh ride thanks to Misty Maples. Amidst the games, the sugar on snow and the music we managed to raise $224. 96 for the Canadian Red Cross with our annual 5 cent plus drive. Thank you to our musicians Brian Herring and Jean Paul Bergeron and thank you to the residents and staff for a fun month!
