Ignacio Piatti named Alcatel MLS Player of the Week

Impact midfielder Ignacio Piatti was named Alcatel MLS Player of the Week on Tuesday for Week 10. Piatti got on the scoresheet four times last Saturday at Stade Saputo, recording one goal and three assists in a 4-2 win against the New England Revolution.

Piatti was also selected on the league's Team of the Week for the third time this season.

The Argentine is currently tied for first in MLS with six assists and three game-winning assists and tied for fifth with five goals. He is one of four players to have recorded a hat-trick this season in MLS.

Last Saturday against the Revs, he passed Patrice Bernier for most career assists in club history in MLS with 27, and most career game-winning assists with 11. He also became the third player in club history to reach 100 career games in MLS.

Piatti also surpassed Eduardo Sebrango for second place in club history, in the first and second divisions, with 52 career regular season goals.

He reached 10,000 career minutes across all competitio­ns with the Impact on March 31, in Seattle. He had joined the club during the 2014 season.
