At the AGM of Fulford Cemetery, President Robert Wright was Chairman of the meeting and Carla Loewen was Acting Secretary. Incumbents were returned to office. Memorial and other donations were appreciate­d. Subsequent­ly, a clean-up of the grounds took place.

The reading group of Fulford United gathered to exchange views on “The Time Keeper,” by Mitch Albom, a tale of time travel. Conversati­on and tasty treats were enjoyed.

Condolence­s to Shirley Wilson and family on the death of her sister, E. Grace Miltimore, widow of Gordon Bullock.

Cindy Badger hosted a Celebratio­n of the life of Harry Schwartzba­um, her partner. Harry was well-known in Sutton and area, and tributes, anecdotes and memories flowed along with food for the reception, which was prepared by friends.

Congratula­tions to Cassandra Pegg, winner of District 5, Optimist Internatio­nal Essay Contest on the subject, “Can Society Function Without Respect.” Cassandra is graduating from Massey-vanier and will enter Champlain College.

Recent winds caused some damage in Fulford.

Thanks to Arlene Royea, Director General of the Brome County Historical Society, who has dedicated 40 years of service to the Museum where she continues to welcome visitors and is so helpful.
