Bright lights, short stories, big winners

The 12th edition of the Brome Bright Lights Short Story contest held its awards ceremony at Brome Lake Books this Saturday June 16. Children in Grades 1 through 6 in the Brome-missisquoi area were invited to take part.

In total, 111 entries were submitted this year.

The winners were:

Second prize in Grade 1-Zennon Fournier from Mansonvill­e Elementary.

First prize in Grade 1- Michaela Meacher.

Second prize in Grade 2- Mya Gardner from Mansonvill­e Elementary.

First prize in Grade 2- Amelya Jersey from Mansonvill­e Elementary.

Second prize in Grade 3- Rebecca Grant from Heroes’ Memorial.

First prize in Grade 3- Emma Chalifour from Farnham Elementary.

Second prize in grade 4- Heidi Rochat from Farnham Elementary

First prize Grade 4 Connor Patch from Heroes Memorial.

Second prize in Grade 5- Takoda Quilliams from Knowlton Academy.

First prize in Grade 5- Devon Whitehead from Heroes Memeorial.

Second prize in Grade 6- Benji Cantelon from Knowlton Academy

First prize in Grade 6 Josef Robert from Knowton Academy.

The Grand Prize was awarded to Michaela Meacher.

A big thank you to the Knowlton Lions club and the Knowlton Players for donating the prize money and well done to all of our budding writers, good job!
