Featured pets: Jinny and William

-

Jinny and William are just two of over 50 dogs recently rescued by the Humane Society International from a South Korean dog meat farm. Upon arrival in Canada, all the rescued dogs spent several weeks at an emergency shelter in Montreal where they were evaluated and monitored. They are now being placed with rescues in Canada and the US where they will have an opportunity to live out their lives with loving adoptive famillies.

Jinny is a really nice young dog who is adapting well to her new life in Canada. She is happy and always excited to go out for her walks. Jinny is dog social and weighs about 40 pounds so she isn't overly big. She is a Jindo mix which is a common breed in part of Asia. Jinny is still getting used to her freedom but she is ready for a home with an adopter who understands she still has some learning to do.

Jinny is approximately 2 years old. William who we are told is a mix of a Labrador and Newfie is so very sweet but still a little scared and retreats a bit initially but once he feels secure, his true nature shines through and he is proving to be a friendly, playful and happy young pup. His entire body wiggles with enthusiasm when he knows it is his turn for a walk or playtime in our dog park. Like Jinny, he is still adapting to his new life but overall he is doing very well. He is a cutie and we expect him to be a big boy. He is approximately 8 months old and he is very well behaved with other dogs.

Both are healthy and up-to-date with all vaccines.
