Orford Music Academy concert in Saint-camille

- Record Staff

On Friday, July 13, students from the Orford Music Academy will present a free concert at the Camillois restaurant in Saint-camille. The concert will include a grand piano, specially set up for the occasion, as well as wind and string instruments performing a variety of classical music.

The concert has been organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Les Concerts de la Chapelle series and received financial assistance from the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications, obtained through the intervention of Richmond MNA and Parliamentary assistant to the Premier for Youth Affairs, Karine Vallières. The event recognizes the abundant and prestigious musical activities that have been in place through the series since 2009.

An ever-increasing number of attendees, both from the MRC and from outside, have been attending these performances.

Despite the modest costs of regular concerts, ($25), cultural spending is a luxury for many. That's why the series is, on the one hand, associated with the Culture du Coeur organization, which allows low-income people to attend these concerts for free, and on the other, can occasionally distribute tickets not used by our subscribers. This is also why the July 13 concert is free, removing the potential barrier of ticket cost to access to a quality concert so that everyone can have fun and treat themselves.

This time, the traditional glass of apple cider shared at the end of the concert will be offered by the municipality of Saint-camille to lift a glass to this 10th season of Les Concerts de la Chapelle.
