The exhibit will run until September 2, 2018.

Sara Peck Colby has been painting landscapes of Quebec for over forty years

“In my work, I hope to touch the viewer, to relate familiar images and narratives, as seen through a lens of simplification and attention to design. I am drawn to the patterns of nature, rhythms and repeats, shadows, branches, distant fields and forests defining informal glimpses of a peaceful life. With a strong sense of design, I seek the abstract choreography of shapes. I paint from life. I paint to tell surprise and delight in what I see.”

Sara Peck Colby studied at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Arthur Lismer, at the Banff School of Fine Arts with Charles Stegeman and at Byam Shaw School in London. She has done illustrations, and worked at the National Film Board. Her paintings are part of private collections in the United States, Great Britain, Germany and Italy.
