Granby Mascot Festival ready to roll

- Record Staff

The 33rd edition of Granby’s Mascot Festival will take place from July 18 to 22 this year. The festival, which is set to take place downtown, will continue the annual tradition of offering children and adults a sidewalk sale by local merchants alongside a multitude of family-friendly activities.

Visitors will be able to enjoy street entertainment in the form of mascot shows, dance demonstrations, singing performances, and colorful characters .The main stage will be mobile again this year, changing location each day to animate the different sectors.

Among this year’s invited artists are The Record Breakers, who recently opened for Bon Jovi at the Bell Center in Montreal, Pastel of La Voix, Bluesman Carl Tremblay, The Singles, an homage to the 50s and 60s, and Allyson Petrin.

Children's shows will be presented on the mobile stage and in the street at various times of the day, including " Abeille Beausoleil and the 4 seasons" Wednesday and Thursday at 2:30 pm, and " Abeille Beausoleil moves to the countryside" Friday and Saturday at 2:30 pm

The Mascot Parade will return on Sunday at 11:00 am and again the same day at 2:00 pm in case of rain. Access to the site and shows is free, although some activities feature an added charge.

More than sixty merchants and exhibitors will be on site from 10 am to 9 pm on weekdays, and from 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday for the sidewalk sale.
